Bah. One silver at the World Athletics championship?

I'm going to be moving next week, so I may miss a week or two of posts.

August 15 - 23: World Championships in Athletics - Canada with only one medal, a silver (sheesh!) USA won the most.
August 17 - 23: UEFA Futsal cup - Futsal Panthers Köln failed to advance.
August 18 - 19: UEFA Champions League, 4th Qualifying Round - FC København won!
August 18 - 20: Marchand Continental Cup - Brazil won, Canada came in 3rd.
August 18 - 20: Copa Sudamericana, 1st stage (selected teams) - River Plate lost.
August 18 - 20: CONCACAF Champions League, group stage - Houston won!
August 18 - 23: World Orienteering Championships - There were Canadians there, but the competition was dominated by Europeans.
August 19 - 20: Eurobasket additional qualifiers - Hungary look to avoid relegation and the Netherlands are sitting good.
August 20: UEFA Europa League, 4th Qualifying Round - AEK Athens lost.
August 20 - 22: FIBA Oceania U17 Men's Championship - Australia won.
August 20 - 22: FIBA Oceania U17 Women's Championship - Australia won.
August 20 - 23: The Ashes, 5th test - Go England won and won the Ashes!
August 21 - 30: Little League World Series - Hastings Community (Vancouver) lost their first two matches and are eliminated.
August 23 - Septemeber 10: UEFA Womens' Euro - the Netherlands won their first match.
August 23 - 25: FIBA Oceania Championship - New Zealand Tall Blacks lost the first match.

August 6 - 16: U16 European Men's Basketball Championship - Germany came 11th, Spain won.
August 6 - 16: U16 European Men's Basketball Championship, division B - the Netherlands came 15th, Bulgaria won.
August 8 - 16: World Shotgun Championships - Sadly no medals for Canada. Italy cleaned up.
August 10 - 14: COCABA Championship - Belize withdrew, Mexico won.
August 10 - 16: World Badminton Championships - No medals for Canada, China walked away with most of the hardware.
August 11 - 13: Copa Sudamericana, 1st stage, 1st leg (selected teams) - River Plate (Uruguay) won the first leg 1-0.
August 11 , 15: Eurobasket additional qualifiers - Hungary is doing ok, the Netherlands are in the middle of their qualifying group.
August 12: FIFA World Cup Qualifiers - Germany beat Azerbaijan 2-0.
August 12 - 16: Canoe Sprint World Championships - Just 3 bronze for Canada at this event hosted in Dartmouth. Germany sat atop the medal standings.
August 13 - 16: PGA Championship - Stephen Ames came 24th, Yang Yong-eun won.
August 14 - 16: CAF Champions League - ZESCO United won.
August 14 - 16: CAF Confederation Cup - AS Vita Club lost.
August 15: FIFA Women's World Cup qualifier - Iceland beat Serbia 5-0.

July 30 - August 4: UEFA Women's Champions League, Qualifying round - Team Strømmen advanced to the second round.
July 30 - August 9: U16 European Women's Basketball Championship - Spain won, Germany came in 16th.
July 30 - August 9: U16 European Women's Basketball Championship, division B - the Netherlands won!
July 30 - August 11: The Ashes, 3rd and 4th tests - Australia smoked England it now sits at 1-1.

Good showing for Canada in Aqautics, now onto the World Shotgun Championships!

July 21 - August 2: UEFA U19 championship - England lost to Ukraine 2-0 in the final.
July 23 - August 2: Women's World U19 Basketball Championships - Canada came in 4th, the USA won.
July 23 - August 2: U18 European Basketball Championship, division B - the Netherlands came in 6th, Sweden won.
July 23 - August 2: U18 European Basketball Championship, division A - Serbia won, Germany came 11th.
July 26 - August 8: Women's World Gliding Championship - Gillian Spreckley's currently in 3rd.
July 27 - 31: OFC Beach Soccer Championship - Solomon Islands beat Vanatu in the finals.
