Gold Cup Beginning

Last week I failed to report on the 2011 Games of the Small States of Europe, in which Cyprus narrowly beat out Iceland and Luxmebourg for the most (gold) medals.

May 19 - June 5: UEFA U19 Championships, Elite round - Germany failed to qualify.
May 24 - June 5: IRB JWT - Canada came 5th, Samoa won.
May 26 - June 20: Sri Lanka in England, 3 Test Series - England in good shape in the second test.
May 27 - July 2: FIVB World League - Germany is 3rd in their group.
May 28 - June 4: EFAF Cup, SF - The London Blitz won!
May 28 - June 5: FIBA Asia Champions Cup - Smart Gilas came 4th, Al Riyad won!
May 30 - June 11: UEFA Women's U19 Championship - the Netherlands failed to advance.
May 31 - June 5: NCAA Men's Golf Championship - Augusta State won.
June 1: Unofficial Football World Championships (Japan vs. Peru) - Japan retained the title!
June 1: Canada MNT vs. Ecuador - The final score was 2 - 2.
June 1 - 2: Libertadores Cup, SF, 2nd leg - Vélez Sársfield failed to advance.
June 2 - 9: NCAA Softball Championship - Baylor failed to advance.
June 3 - 5: 2012 African Cup of Nations Qualifying - DR Congo won!
June 3 - 5: CAF Men's Olympic qualifying - DR Congo lost.
June 3 - 7: EURO 2012 Qualifying - Go Germany!
June 3 - 12: AFC Women's pre-olympic soccer tournament - Uzbekistan is 1 - 1.
June 4: India in West Indies, 1 T20 Series - India won!
June 4: Nasazzi's Baton (the Netherlands vs. Brazil) - the Netherlands retained the tital.
June 4 - 5: Madrid Triathlon - Paula Findlay won again!
June 5: Catalan Moto GP - Ben Spies came 3rd.
June 5: Race of Hungary - Tom Coronel came 18th and 4th.
June 5 - 12: Critérium du Dauphiné - There are no Canadians entered.
June 5 - 25: Gold Cup - Canada hasn't played yet.
June 6 - 16: India in West Indies, 5 ODI Series - The first match is not yet over.
